I’m a researcher working on issues at the intersection of ethics, philosophy of mind, and metaphysics.
I’m interested in questions such as: What makes a person matter morally? What other kinds of creatures, biological or artificial, matter morally? What makes something a bodypart? What makes something valuable for someone? How should we design AI systems to align with human values? How should we make decisions for people when their values are changing or unknown?
Recently I’ve been thinking about applied versions of these questions in biomedical and technology ethics. I often draw from various areas of empirical psychology.
